‘After Sakshi bhabhi, I am the only guy…’: Ravindra Jadeja teases MS Dhoni | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: MS Dhoni is known for his calm demeanour on the field, rarely allowing his emotions to overpower him. But last year’s IPL final saw the other side of the ‘Captain Cool’ when his emotions ran high after Ravindra Jadeja guided CSK to their fifth IPL title.
In the crucial 15th and final over of the rain-marred match, CSK found themselves in a precarious situation, requiring 10 runs off the last two balls. It was then that the seasoned Jadeja turned the tide in his team’s favour, smashing medium-pacer Mohit Sharma for a six and a four. What followed next left an indelible mark in the hearts of fans as Dhoni was seen embracing and lifting Jadeja for his stellar performance.
Recalling the incident during the promotional event on Thursday, Jadeja tickled his funny bone saying probably he is the only one who was lifted by Dhoni after his wife Sakshi Dhoni.
“I believe after Sakshi bhabhi, I am the only guy who was lifted by Mahi bhai,” said Jadeja that left everyone burst into laughter.
Dhoni also lauded Jadeja for the way he batted and said he had full confidence in him as he possesses the talent and mind set to achieve the target.

“And this situation also, you know I was quite confident about you know Jaddu has the talent and mindset to achieve the target. But again, it’s not definitely that this is what will happen. It was a very memorable innings. You know the few sixes that he hit before the last ball. I think those were very difficult.
Looking at the TV, it looks easy but now that I bat down the order, I know how difficult it is to get that kind of elevation and win it for six. And at the same time, everybody is under pressure. The opposition wants to win, we want to win. It’s hard work for everyone. So glad we were on the winning side. And the emotions were very high. So a big round of applause for Jaddu for the way he batted.”
Ravindra Jadeja began his IPL career with Rajasthan Royals in 2008, the inaugural season of the league, when the late Shane Warne gave him the name ‘rockstar’.
