LUCKNOW: Security has beefed up across the state in the wake of Babri Masjid demolition anniversary on Monday.
ADG, law and order, Prashant Kumar said 150 companies of PAC and six companies of central paramilitary forces have been deployed across the state.
He said that special security arrangements have been made in the three temple cities of Varanasi, Mathura and Ayodhya.
“We negotiated and brokered peace with six organisations who were planning to hold protests on the occasion, while the state home department has instructed all district police chiefs not to allow any new event other than those being held since the past,” said Kumar.
Kumar said DGP has held several rounds of talks with the police officials and directed them to conduct regular security drills and carry out checking at all bus stops, railway stations and district borders, while all senior officers will camp in sensitive districts.
Another senior police officer monitoring law and order in the state, said that core digital teams have been asked to keep a tab on messages running on WhatsApp in sensitive districts.
DGP headquarters will monitor sensitive districts like Moradabad, Sambhal, Amroha, Rampur, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, Aligarh, Kasganj, Etah, Muzaffarnagar and Shamli.
