At least 25 Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli air strike on a camp for displaced people outside a school in southern Gaza, hospital officials say.
Reports say the strike hit tents pitched next to al-Awda school in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of the city of Khan Younis.
Videos posted on social media showed more than a dozen dead and seriously wounded people, including several children, on the floor of a local hospital.
The Israeli military said it was looking into the reports. It comes a week after it began a new operation in eastern Khan Younis, prompting tens of thousands of people to flee.
On Saturday, 16 people were killed in an Israeli strike on a UN-run school in central Gaza that was home to displaced people, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
The Israeli military said at the time that it had struck “several terrorists” from Hamas who had been operating inside the school and that it had taken steps to mitigate the risk of harming civilians.
