Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) emerged as the lowest bidder for the design and construction of an 8 km viaduct in Gujarat and the Vadodara station for the country’s first bullet train corridor.
The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) – responsible for implementing the high-speed rail corridor, opened financial bids for the design and construction of the viaduct, which includes the high-speed rail (HSR) station at Vadodara.
The financial bids of two technically qualified bidders were opened and M/s Larsen & Toubro Limited emerged as the lowest bidder, said NHSRCL in a statement. The technical bids of this tender were opened on October 5, 2021.
The 508 km long Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor will operate at speed of 320 km per hour, passing through areas in Maharashtra, Gujarat, as well as Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The entire distance is expected to be covered in two-three hours and will cover 12 stations along the route.
