Manasa Varanasi visits the SOS Children’s Village, Hyderabad

VLCC Femina Miss India World 2020 Manasa Varanasi grew up with a strong desire to be a voice for the children, and following her national win, she wishes to make an impact in society with the help of a large platform like Femina Miss India.

The beauty queen recently visited the SOS Children’s Village, Hyderabad, delighting children and SOS Mothers, who extended her a warm welcome. Established in 2003, SOS Children’s Village is one of the top NGOs in Hyderabad. The organization aims at helping children neglected or abandoned by their families due to their inability to meet the needs of their children and the ones who had lost their parents to death at a very young age. Children here are nurtured by loving mothers and now have a family to call their own. Currently, the total number of children under their care is 138.

During her visit, Manasa conducted a session with the young girls and their Mothers, where she spoke about child rights. And a girl also presented her with a beautiful sketch portraying her support for the NGO. Manasa was deeply touched by the heartwarming gesture.

Over the years, the stunning beauty had volunteered with various NGOs, and speaking about her greater vision towards this case, she said, “Connecting with these children made me appreciate the fact that behind every smile, behind every action, lies a story, and these stories – sometimes happy, but often sad – mold us. It is easy to pay attention to the way people look and act, but our fears and traumas are very personal experiences. So I really want to reach out and make as many children feel safe.”

She recently even launched her Beauty With A Purpose Project (BWAP) ‘10-9-8’ to promote the safety and security of children and has also associated with the Hyderabad police for their campaign ‘We Can’ that tends towards preventing and stopping child sexual abuse in the state.

Manasa’s visit was well organized following all COVID-19 protocols, and the queen was seen having a wonderful time interacting with everyone.
