EXCLUSIVE: Skydance’s long-development Bermuda Triangle action-adventure pic Bermuda has landed a director as Marc Webb has closed a deal to helm the project. While the studio has been working on the project for some time, this version is still in early days as no writer has been attached and until WGA strike ends, that will remain the same. Insiders add, that once the strike ends and a writer can be attached, Webb would consult with that writer on the script but is not expected to co-write.
David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger will produce for Skydance. Aimee Rivera will oversee the project for Skydance.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, except for the fact that it will be set in the mysterious patch of the Caribbean where planes and ships have gone missing over the years.
Best known for his breakout comedy (500) Days Of Summer, Webb most recently directed Disney’s live-action adaptation of Snow White starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot. He also directed episode of the Disney+ series Just Beyond.
He is repped by CAA.
Skydance is coming off of off the hugely successful Top Gun: Maverick andMission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Skydance’s live-action film slate includes Heart of Stone, Spy Kids: Armageddon andThe Old Guard 2 for Netflix as well as The Family Plan, The Gorge, and Mayday for Apple TV+ and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two.
