Davinder Saini, the Aam Aadmi Party’s block president and office in-charge for local MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa, was alerted to the disappearance of a female party worker on April 25. A friend of the missing woman had contacted her family, prompting Saini to take immediate action. According to a senior police official, he reached out to the local authorities and was advised to file a missing person report and contact the Indian Embassy in Ottawa through its online portal.
The tragic death of Vanshika, a bright student from Dera Bassi who was pursuing her studies in Canada, has left her family and community in deep sorrow. According to official sources, a postmortem examination has been conducted in Canada, and it will take some time before her body is repatriated to India. Local MLA Randhawa visited the grieving family earlier this morning. Expressing his condolences, he stated, “We are deeply saddened by Vanshika’s untimely death. She was a school topper in Dera Bassi and had been performing well academically in Canada. This is a personal loss for us as well—Davinder, her family member, is a close associate and currently serves as in-charge of my office.”
The MLA stated that he had informed party MPs, including Raj Kumar Chabbewal and Balbir Singh Seechewal, along with other senior leaders, to extend their support in helping the family bring the body back home.
