Kathua, J&K: In a tragic yet valiant operation, four policemen were martyred, and three terrorists were neutralized in a fierce gunfight in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter took place in the early hours of the morning after security forces received intelligence regarding the presence of heavily armed militants in the region.
According to officials, a joint operation involving the Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces was launched in the remote area following inputs about suspicious activity. During the intense battle, four policemen lost their lives while trying to eliminate the terrorists. However, the security forces successfully managed to neutralize all three militants after hours of sustained gunfire.
Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) expressed condolences to the families of the martyred officers, commending their bravery and sacrifice in the line of duty. “Our forces showed exceptional courage while confronting the heavily armed terrorists. We deeply mourn the loss of our brave officers,” he stated.
