The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has announced a nationwide protest against the proposed Waqf Amendment Bill, beginning with sit-in demonstrations in Patna and Vijayawada. The initiative aims to strongly oppose the controversial bill while rallying support from opposition parties, civil society organizations, and other minority communities. The protests are expected to intensify in the coming weeks as AIMPLB seeks to mobilize public opinion against the amendments. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing movement.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has declared a nationwide agitation against the proposed Waqf Amendment Bill. In a statement issued on Sunday, Mohd Vaquar Uddin Latifi, Office Secretary of AIMPLB, emphasized that following the massive and successful protest held in Delhi on March 17, the organization is now expanding its efforts across the country.

The AIMPLB remains firm in its stance against the proposed amendments, calling for widespread participation in the movement. The board urges community members and concerned citizens to join the protests and voice their opposition to the bill.

SQR Ilyas, spokesperson for the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) and Convener of the Action Committee Against the Waqf Bill, extended heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Board to all Muslim organizations, civil society groups, and leaders from Dalit, Adivasi, OBC, and other minority communities. He acknowledged their unwavering support and collective efforts in opposing the bill, emphasizing the importance of unity in safeguarding minority rights.

Without the grace of Allah and the unwavering support of these groups, the success of the Delhi demonstration would not have been possible,” he stated. He also expressed gratitude to the opposition parties and Members of Parliament who participated in large numbers and strongly opposed the proposed legislation.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has announced that its 31-member Action Committee has decided to utilize all constitutional, legal, and democratic measures to oppose what it describes as a “controversial, discriminatory, and damaging” bill. As part of the first phase of its protest, large-scale sit-ins have been scheduled in front of state assemblies, with demonstrations set to take place in Patna on March 26 and Vijayawada on March 29.

The senior leadership of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), along with representatives from national and state-level religious and social organizations, is set to take part in these demonstrations. Additionally, leaders from civil society, prominent figures from other minority communities, and key representatives from Dalit, Adivasi, and OBC sections have also confirmed their participation.

Although multiple political parties have issued whips mandating MPs to be present at the ongoing Parliament session, opposition members of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) have still been invited to participate in the sit-ins, according to the statement.

Leaders from various political parties have been invited to key events across different states. In Patna, the Chief Minister of Bihar, along with leaders from JD(U), RJD, Congress, and Lok Janshakti Party, has received invitations. Similarly, in Andhra Pradesh, invitations have been extended to the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP), as well as YSR Congress, Congress, and left parties.

Ilyas emphasized that the primary objective of these protests is to deliver a strong message to the BJP’s alliance partners: they must either withdraw their support for the Bill or face the possibility of losing backing from his group.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has announced a comprehensive nationwide protest plan, aiming to organize demonstrations in all state capitals.

As part of this movement, major rallies are set to take place in key cities, including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Malerkotla (Punjab), and Ranchi. The campaign will feature various forms of protest, such as sit-in demonstrations, human chains, and digital activism. A significant focus will be on social media outreach, with targeted hashtag drives on X (formerly Twitter) to amplify the message.

District-level public conferences, seminars, symposiums, and dharnas will be organized, during which memorandums will be submitted to the President of India through the respective District Magistrates, as stated in the official announcement.
