Amit Shah Clarifies: No Non-Muslims to Be Part of Waqf Board
During the parliamentary debate on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed concerns regarding the inclusion of non-Muslim members in Waqf Boards. He emphasized that the proposed amendments do not intend to appoint non-Muslims to these boards. The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, introduced by Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, aims to reform the management of Waqf properties. Rijiju stated that the bill seeks to enhance transparency and efficiency in Waqf property administration, asserting that the government has no intention of interfering with religious institutions.
