Ananya Panday Pays Emotional Tribute to Nirmal Kapoor at Last Rites Ceremony
Mumbai: Ananya Panday was seen in an emotional state as she paid her last respects to Nirmal Kapoor, the mother of film producer Boney Kapoor and actors Anil and Sanjay Kapoor, who passed away on May 2 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.
The young actor, who shares a close friendship with Janhvi and Shanaya Kapoor—granddaughters of the late Nirmal Kapoor—attended the condolence gathering at the Kapoor residence. A video shared on social media showed Panday breaking down in tears, dressed in a white ethnic suit, visibly distressed as she refrained from interaction with the media.
Nirmal Kapoor’s passing has drawn an outpouring of grief from the film fraternity. Several prominent personalities, including Rani Mukerji, Anupam Kher, Suhana Khan, Jackie Shroff, and Javed Akhtar, were seen visiting the family to extend their condolences. Janhvi Kapoor, who appeared visibly shaken, was accompanied by her partner Shikhar Pahariya. Vedang Raina, rumoured to be dating Khushi Kapoor, also attended to offer support.
Nirmal Kapoor, wife of the late film producer Surinder Kapoor, is survived by her four children—Boney, Anil, Sanjay, and Reena Kapoor Marwah—along with daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, eleven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
The Kapoor family released a statement confirming her peaceful passing and shared that the funeral will be held on Saturday at Vile Parle Crematorium, Pawan Hans, Mumbai.
