Nagpur witnessed a major outbreak of violence recently, prompting Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to call it a “well-planned attack.” He alleged that the unrest was orchestrated with malicious intent, urging strict action against those responsible. However, the Opposition has held the government accountable, accusing it of failing to maintain law and order.

Addressing the media, Fadnavis, who also holds the Home portfolio in Maharashtra, claimed that the violence in Nagpur was not spontaneous but a premeditated act. “The attack was planned in advance, and the perpetrators had a clear agenda to disrupt peace in the city,” he said. He assured that the state government would take stringent measures to bring the culprits to justice.

The Opposition, led by the Congress and NCP, has blamed the state government for its alleged failure to prevent the violence. Senior Congress leader Nana Patole questioned the administration’s preparedness, stating, “If this was a planned attack, why did the government fail to prevent it? This clearly shows inefficiency and negligence on their part.”

The Shiv Sena (UBT) also criticized the BJP-led government, accusing it of politicizing the incident rather than ensuring public safety.

“The government is trying to divert attention from its failures by labeling this as a conspiracy,” said a party spokesperson.Fadnavis

Following the violence, security has been tightened in Nagpur, with additional police forces deployed in sensitive areas. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation, examining CCTV footage and interrogating suspects to trace the masterminds behind the attack.

Meanwhile, Fadnavis has assured the public that those involved will face strict legal action. “We will not allow such incidents to disrupt harmony in Maharashtra. The police are taking all necessary steps to restore peace,” he said.

The incident has further widened the rift between the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) alliance and the Opposition. With elections around the corner, both sides are using the incident to score political points, making law and order a major issue in Maharashtra’s political landscape.

As investigations continue, citizens await clarity on who was truly responsible for the violence and whether justice will be served.
