Wedding Cancelled After Groom’s Bold Dance Performance Goes Viral
When the baraat turns into Bollywood, but the wedding turns into a walkout.
In a twist that could only happen in the age of viral videos and fragile egos, a grand wedding in Delhi came to an abrupt halt after the groom’s overly enthusiastic dance to the iconic ’90s Bollywood number “Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai” sent shockwaves—not through the crowd, but through the bride’s father.
What was meant to be a night of joy, dhol beats, and dancing relatives turned into a scene straight out of a dramatic soap opera. As the groom made his much-anticipated entry with the baraat, he decided to take center stage—literally. Channeling his inner Madhuri Dixit, the groom broke into a full-throttle, hip-swinging, pelvis-thrusting performance to “Choli Ke Peeche”, complete with shades, finger snaps, and unbothered attitude.
Onlookers initially cheered, laughed, and recorded what they thought was just a quirky moment. The video, as expected, spread like wildfire on social media, with hashtags like #CholiKeGroom and #BaraatGoneBold trending within hours.

However, not everyone was amused.
The bride’s father, a retired army colonel known for his strict demeanor and deep appreciation for “culture and sanskaar,” was visibly horrified by the display. Eyewitnesses say he stood frozen for a few seconds before muttering, “Yeh toh sabhyata ka the end hai,” and walked straight into the venue to call off the wedding.
Reports say he considered the groom’s dance a “mockery of tradition” and an “unacceptable start to a supposedly sacred union.” Despite the bride’s tearful attempts to salvage the ceremony, the colonel held his ground. The bride, clearly embarrassed, allegedly said, “If he dances like this now, imagine what our family WhatsApp group will look like later.”
The groom, however, remained unapologetic.
“I was just vibing,” he told reporters. “It’s my wedding day! If you can’t dance to Choli Ke Peeche on your big day, then when can you?”
While the wedding may have ended before it began, the groom is now fielding offers to appear in dance reality shows and wedding entertainment gigs. Some are even calling him the “break-up dancer of the year.”
Moral of the story? Maybe don’t audition for India’s Got Talent during your baraat—especially when your future father-in-law is watching.
