Reportedly, a train had to be pulled out of service after it failed to reach the required speed. This resulted in delays on Line 1 (Versova-Ghatkopar), leading to a buildup of commuters.
Chaos erupted for Mumbai commuters as a single service withdrawal due to technical issues on Metro Line 1 triggered a stampede-like situation at Ghatkopar station.
“Line 1 urgently needs 6-coach rakes and thrice the current number of trains! Act now before lives are lost,” an X user urged, tagging @Dev_Fadnavis and @CMOMaharashtra.
Authorities confirmed that the issue has been resolved, and Metro services on the affected line are now running smoothly.
