IMD Issues Orange Alert for July 22 Across Several States
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for July 22, warning of significant weather activity in parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Goa, and Telangana.
In Delhi, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy, with light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
Temperature Forecast for Delhi:
- Maximum: 31°C to 33°C (slightly below normal)
- Minimum: 24°C to 26°C
IMD Issues Orange Alert for Heavy Rainfall on 22 July
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several regions on 22nd July 2025. Residents in the following districts are advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions:
Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh:
- Jammu region: Poonch, Reasi, Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Rajouri, Ramban
- Other areas: Mirpur, Kishtwar, Doda, Kangra, Chamba
Uttarakhand:
- Uttarkashi
- Dehradun
- Tehri Garhwal
- Rudraprayag
Maharashtra (Konkan and Western regions):
- Raigad
- Ratnagiri
- Sindhudurg
- Satara
- Sangli
- Kolhapur
Goa:
- North Goa

🔹 Very heavy rainfall is predicted over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on 22nd July, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
🔹 Heavy rainfall is also likely in the following regions:
- Jammu & Kashmir: 22nd–23rd July
- Himachal Pradesh: 22nd–27th July
- Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana: 22nd–24th July
- West Uttar Pradesh: 22nd–23rd and again on 26th–27th July
East India
- East Uttar Pradesh: Similar weather conditions with moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning expected from 25 to 27 July.
- East Rajasthan: Rain and thunderstorm activity likely on 27 July.
Western Himalayan Region & Northern Plains
- Moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected at many places across the Western Himalayan region, and at a few locations in the northern plains, over the next 7 days.
West India
- Konkan, Goa, and Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra: Expect very heavy rainfall at isolated places during 22–27 July.
- Gujarat State: Heavy rainfall likely on 26 and 27 July.
- General forecast: Moderate rainfall is expected at some places across western India for the next 5 days.
South Peninsular India
- Kerala, Mahe, and South Interior Karnataka: Very heavy rainfall predicted during 25–27 July.
- Telangana: Likely to experience very heavy rainfall on 22 and 23 July.
- Coastal Karnataka: Very heavy rainfall expected on 27 July.
- Tamil Nadu: Heavy rainfall predicted on 22 July.
- Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka: Heavy rainfall likely throughout the period 22–27 July.
Rayalaseema is expected to experience similar weather conditions on 22nd and 23rd July, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Strong surface winds with speeds reaching 40–50 kmph are very likely to prevail over South Peninsular India for the next 5 days.
Moderate rainfall is predicted at many places across the following regions over the next 7 days:
- Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep,
- Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh,
- Yanam, and Telangana.
Weather Update: South Peninsular India
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Rayalaseema is likely to witness similar weather conditions on July 22 and 23.
Strong surface winds, with speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kmph, are expected to prevail across South Peninsular India for the next five days.
Additionally, moderate rainfall is forecast at several locations across the following regions over the next seven days:
- Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep
- Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh
- Yanam and Telangana
Northeast India Weather Forecast (22–27 July)
- Widespread moderate rainfall, often accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected to continue across Northeast India for the next 7 days.
- Heavy rainfall is very likely in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya on 22 July and again from 24 to 27 July.
- Nagaland and Tripura are also likely to experience similar heavy rain conditions during 23 to 27 July.

Delhi will witness a generally cloudy sky, with light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
- Temperature Range: Max: 31–33°C | Min: 24–26°C
- Both day and night temperatures are expected to be 1–2°C below normal.
🔹 23 July:
Expect a cloudy sky with very light to light rain, along with thunderstorms/lightning.
- Temperature Range: Max: 31–33°C | Min: 23–25°C
- Minimum temperatures could be 2–4°C below normal, while maximum will remain 1–2°C below normal.
🔹 24 July:
Skies will be partly cloudy, with very light rain likely.
- Temperature Range: Max: 34–36°C | Min: 24–26°C
- Minimum temperatures will remain 1–2°C below normal, but maximum temperatures may rise to 1–2°C above normal.
