In an interview with Fox News, Vance expressed his hope that India’s response to the recent terrorist attack does not escalate into a larger conflict.

US Vice President JD Vance Calls for Restraint Between India and Pakistan After Pahalgam Terror Attack

In the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, US Vice President JD Vance has called on both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint. The attack, which has escalated tensions between the two neighboring countries, has drawn significant international attention.

Vance urged Pakistan to cooperate with India in tracing the terrorists behind the attack, who are reportedly based in Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of diplomatic efforts in addressing the rising tensions and preventing further violence in the region.

As relations between India and Pakistan continue to deteriorate, the US Vice President’s statement underscores the need for both nations to prioritize peace and stability in South Asia, urging them to work together to combat terrorism and avoid further escalation of conflict.

In an interview with Fox News, Vance expressed concern over the recent terrorist attack, urging India to respond in a manner that avoids escalating into a larger regional conflict. He stated, “Our hope here is that India reacts to this terrorist attack in a way that doesn’t spark a broader regional conflict.”

Vance also called for cooperation from Pakistan, highlighting the importance of addressing the issue collectively. “We hope, frankly, that Pakistan, to the extent that they’re responsible, works with India to ensure that terrorists operating from their territory are identified and dealt with appropriately,” he emphasized.

Vance’s remarks came just one day after US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth engaged in discussions with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. During the conversation, Hegseth reaffirmed the United States’ unwavering support for India’s right to defend itself.

This week, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio engaged in discussions with India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, urging both nations to prioritize peace and security in the region. Rubio emphasized the importance of de-escalation and called for efforts to avoid further tensions.

In response, Minister Jaishankar made it clear that while India is committed to peace, it is crucial that those responsible for the recent attack be held accountable. He stressed that justice must be served for the perpetrators to ensure long-term stability in the region.

In a recent conversation with Shehbaz Sharif, Rubico urged the Pakistani Prime Minister to cooperate with India in its investigation into the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam’s Baisaran Valley, which tragically claimed the lives of 26 individuals, most of whom were tourists. The attack, which was swiftly claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy group of the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has raised serious concerns over cross-border terrorism. Ind has called for Pakistan’s assistance in addressing this heinous act and ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

Global Leaders Express Solidarity with India

In the wake of the recent attack, India took a significant step by downgrading its diplomatic relations with Pakistan. Following this decision, several prominent world leaders have reached out to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend their condolences for the tragic loss of life. These leaders have also reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ind in its ongoing battle against terrorism. Condemning the attack in the strongest terms, global voices have echoed solidarity with Ind, emphasizing the need for collective action in the fight against terrorism and extremism.

In a significant escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, both countries have announced a series of measures, including the suspension of crucial agreements such as the Indus Waters Treaty and the Simla Agreement. The move comes amid worsening bilateral relations and ongoing military confrontations.

In response to the intensifying standoff, both nations have also closed their airspace to one another, further heightening the strain on diplomatic ties. The Indian government has taken additional steps by blocking access to several Pakistani YouTube channels and Instagram accounts belonging to prominent Pakistani celebrities, marking a further crackdown on cross-border media exchange.

As the situation worsens, Pakistan’s military has been repeatedly violating the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC), with shelling continuing for the eighth consecutive night. The situation remains fluid, with both nations on high alert as tensions persist along their border.
