Indian Stock Market Closed Today for Mahavir Jayanti 2025
The Indian stock market will remain closed today, Thursday, April 10, 2025, in observance of Mahavir Jayanti, as per the official trading holiday calendar released by the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Consequently, there will be no trading activity in the Equity, Equity Derivatives, SLB (Securities Lending and Borrowing), and Currency Derivatives segments.

While the Commodity Derivatives Segment will remain shut during the morning session (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), it will resume operations for the evening session from 5:00 PM to 11:30/11:55 PM, as per Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) guidelines.
This closure comes amid ongoing market volatility influenced by global recession concerns and recent monetary policy changes by the Reserve Bank of India, which announced a 25 basis point cut in the repo rate and revised its policy stance.
