According to sources, a body buried recently in a cemetery in Kurla was found to have been taken out of the grave. This incident created panic in the area, and the locals complained about it to the police.

According to legal experts, digging a grave and removing a body without permission is illegal. An FIR can be lodged against those doing so under Section 297 (unauthorized entry into a cemetery and tampering with a body) and Section 425 (offense of causing damage) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). If it is found to be a case of hurting religious sentiments, then Section 295A can also be added to it.
