A gruesome murder case has surfaced in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where a Merchant Navy officer, Saurabh Rajput, was brutally killed, his body dismembered into over 15 pieces, and sealed inside a drum with cement. The shocking crime was allegedly carried out by his wife, Muskaan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla.
Saurabh and Muskaan had a love marriage in 2016. Wanting to spend more time with his wife, Saurabh left his Merchant Navy job, a decision that led to tensions within his family. Due to these conflicts, he and Muskaan moved out to live separately. The couple welcomed a daughter in 2019, but their happiness was short-lived.
Saurabh later discovered that Muskaan was involved in an extramarital affair with his friend Sahil. This revelation led to frequent fights, and the couple even considered divorce. However, for the sake of his daughter’s future, Saurabh chose to reconcile. He decided to return to his job in the Merchant Navy and left for work in 2023.
On February 24, Saurabh returned home to celebrate his daughter’s sixth birthday on February 28. However, by then, Muskaan and Sahil had allegedly planned to eliminate him.
According to police investigations, Muskaan laced Saurabh’s food with sleeping pills on March 4. Once he was unconscious, she and Sahil allegedly murdered him with a knife. They then chopped his body into multiple pieces, placed them inside a drum, and sealed it with wet cement. Their plan was to dispose of the body later.

When neighbors inquired about Saurabh’s absence, Muskaan claimed he had gone to a hill station. To further mislead people, she and Sahil traveled to Manali using Saurabh’s phone and posted pictures on his social media accounts, creating the illusion that he was alive.
Despite their efforts, suspicion arose when Saurabh’s family was unable to contact him for several days. Concerned, they filed a missing person complaint with the police. Investigators took Muskaan and Sahil into custody for questioning. Under interrogation, they confessed to the murder and revealed the location of the body.
When police attempted to open the cement-filled drum using hammers and chisels, they failed due to the hardened cement. The drum was transported to the mortuary, where a drill machine was used to extract Saurabh’s remains—14 days after the murder.
Meerut City police chief Ayush Vikram Singh confirmed the case, stating, “Saurabh’s family approached us after he was missing for several days. On suspicion, we detained his wife Muskaan and her lover Sahil. During questioning, they admitted to the murder. We have recovered the body, which has been sent for autopsy. The two accused are in custody and will be presented in court soon.”
The horrifying crime has left the local community in shock, exposing a brutal case of betrayal, deception, and premeditated murder
