PM Modi and Elon Musk Discuss Expanding Collaboration in Technology, Space, and AI
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a conversation with Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to explore new avenues of collaboration in the fields of technology, space exploration, and artificial intelligence. The discussion builds upon their earlier meeting in Washington, D.C., during the Prime Minister’s visit to the United States earlier this year.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said, “Spoke to Elon Musk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation. India remains committed to advancing our partnerships with the US in these domains.”
Musk, accompanied by his three children, had met PM Modi at the Blair House in February. Their conversation covered a wide range of areas, including innovation, mobility, space, and sustainable development.
According to a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), both leaders discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Indian and American entities in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, space research, artificial intelligence, and governance reform.
This was the third meeting between Modi and Musk, following their earlier interactions in California in 2015 and New York in 2023. Musk is also known to have growing influence in U.S. policymaking circles, particularly through his leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which focuses on improving federal efficiency and reducing public expenditure.
