Prime Minister Narendra Modi clarified that no major world power asked India to halt Operation Sindoor. In contrast, only three countries expressed support for Pakistan, highlighting India’s growing global diplomatic standing.

PM Modi Says Global Powers Did Not Oppose Operation Sindoor, Only 3 Nations Supported Pakistan

New Delhi, July 30, 2025:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a bold statement regarding India’s ongoing counter-terror operation, “Sindoor,” saying that no world leader requested India to stop the mission. The operation, launched in response to escalating cross-border threats, has received widespread diplomatic neutrality, with only three countries reportedly voicing support for Pakistan.

Modi Highlights Diplomatic Shift in India’s Favour

Speaking at a public address, PM Modi stated,

“Today, India is no longer seen through the lens of helplessness. Not one global power asked us to stop Operation Sindoor. Only three countries supported Pakistan. This is the power of new India.”

This remark underscores India’s changing position in global geopolitics. While in the past India’s military actions often drew international scrutiny or calls for restraint, the lack of widespread condemnation or pressure to halt the current operation marks a significant shift in how the world engages with New Delhi.

What is Operation Sindoor?

Operation Sindoor is a large-scale counter-terror initiative launched by the Indian armed forces targeting terrorist infrastructure across the Line of Control (LoC). The operation followed a series of attacks on Indian soil, including the Pahalgam incident that claimed 26 lives, which has intensified calls for stronger security action.

The name “Sindoor” symbolically reflects sacrifice and resolve, rooted in cultural and nationalistic sentiment.

International Response—Silence or Support?

While PM Modi did not name the three countries that backed Pakistan, sources indicate that most major powers, including the U.S., France, Russia, and the UK, remained neutral or showed tacit support for India’s right to defend itself. This lack of overt criticism is being hailed as a diplomatic win.

Analysts suggest this is due to:

  • India’s growing economic influence.
  • Strategic partnerships with the West and Middle East.
  • Global fatigue with Pakistan’s terror-linked image.

Only a few nations—believed to be traditional allies of Islamabad—voiced concern over escalation.

Opposition, Public, and Strategic Reactions

The opposition in India has called for transparency about the goals and duration of Operation Sindoor. Meanwhile, public sentiment remains largely supportive, with many seeing it as a long-overdue show of strength.

Security experts say the operation is not just about military retaliation but a test of India’s geopolitical leverage and narrative control. “It’s significant that the world is listening differently now,” said a retired Indian diplomat.

India’s Growing Influence on the Global Stage

PM Modi’s statement signals confidence not only in India’s military capability but also in its standing on the global stage. With increasing global partnerships and a visible role in shaping regional stability, India is asserting its autonomy in defense strategy without succumbing to external pressure.

Operation Sindoor marks a turning point in how India handles cross-border terrorism and how the world reacts to it. PM Modi’s declaration that only three nations supported Pakistan—while none opposed India—reinforces the narrative of a rising India with diminishing tolerance for diplomatic double standards.
