The complaint, filed by Deepak Kothari, alleges misuse of funds originally meant for business expansion, diverted instead for personal expenses. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police is currently investigating the case.

In their defense, the couple’s legal representative contends the investment was an older, civil transaction already addressed by legal processes (notably, NCLT proceedings in October 2024), and that there’s no criminal intent.
