Chemical Plant Blast at Sigachi Pharma in Pasamailaram: 8 Dead, 26 Injured
A tragic explosion occurred at the Sigachi Pharma chemical production facility in Pasamailaram between 8:15 and 9:35 AM. Authorities were alerted within 10 minutes of the incident, and police reached the site within 20 minutes.
Emergency response was swift, with the NDRF, SDF, and other rescue teams arriving alongside 10 fire engines to control the situation and carry out rescue operations.
So far, eight fatalities have been confirmed—six bodies were recovered from the scene, while two individuals succumbed to injuries during treatment at a hospital in Chanda Nagar. Additionally, 26 others have been reported injured, with two to three in critical condition.
Government officials are actively involved in overseeing rescue and relief efforts.
A fire alert was received at 9:37 a.m., leading to the deployment of 11 fire engines from various stations, including Patancheru, Sangareddy, Kukatpally, Madhapur, Jeedimetla, and Rajendranagar.

In the latest tragedy, a fire at the Sigachi chemical plant has reportedly left at least 10 people dead, according to media reports.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the incident and instructed officials to take all necessary measures to rescue any workers who may still be trapped.
The opposition BJP has called for a thorough investigation into the recurring industrial accidents in the region.

BJP MLA Payal Shankar has demanded a thorough investigation into the recent explosion at a chemical plant operated by Sigachi Industries in Telangana, which has reportedly claimed at least 10 lives. Speaking to ANI, Shankar emphasized the need for proper medical care for the injured and questioned the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“How did this happen? Who is responsible? Were safety protocols followed? If such a blast had occurred in a more crowded area, the casualties could have been far worse. The incident must be investigated thoroughly,” she said.

Sigachi Industries Stock Drops Sharply After Fire Incident at Telangana Plant
Shares of Sigachi Industries plunged sharply on the BSE, hitting an intraday low of ₹47, a decline of 14.8%. By 1 PM, the stock was trading around 13% lower at ₹48, reflecting market concerns following reports of a tragic fire at one of its chemical plants in Telangana.
The incident comes at a time when the stock has been showing mixed performance. Over the past 12 months, Sigachi shares have declined 20.92%. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, the stock is down 5.30%, and it has fallen 3.97% over the last six months.
Interestingly, the stock had recently staged a short-term rally, gaining 36.24% over the past three months, before slipping again amid renewed pressure.
