Content creator and internet personality Apoorva Mukhija has issued a public apology after her recent remarks about the comedy talent show India’s Got Latent sparked backlash online. In a heartfelt statement shared on her social media platforms, Mukhija reflected on her controversial appearance and the uncomfortable experience that unfolded behind the scenes.
The apology came days after a clip from her guest appearance on the show went viral, drawing sharp criticism from viewers who accused her of being dismissive and disrespectful during the segment. Addressing the situation, Mukhija expressed regret over her comments and clarified her perspective.
“I never intended to come across as rude or insensitive,” she wrote. “That said, I now realise how my words may have hurt people, and for that, I am truly sorry.”
Mukhija went on to describe the environment on set as “dehumanising,” claiming that a particular individual’s conduct made her feel unsafe and disrespected. Without naming names, she recalled that comedian and co-panelist Samay Raina stepped in multiple times to defuse the situation.
“Samay Raina asked him to behave multiple times,” she revealed. “It was clear that I wasn’t the only one uncomfortable with how things were going. I appreciate his support in that moment more than words can express.”
Her statement has drawn mixed responses, with many fans praising her for owning up to the controversy and shedding light on the pressures public figures face, especially women, in high-stakes media appearances. Others, however, continue to question the authenticity of the apology and have demanded accountability from the show’s producers.
