Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Adampur Airbase to meet with Indian soldiers, expressing the nation’s enduring gratitude for their bravery and service.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur Air Base in Punjab on Tuesday, where he met and interacted with Indian soldiers. The visit comes shortly after India and Pakistan reached a mutual agreement to uphold a ceasefire along the Line of Control.

Adampur was one of the Indian Air Force bases targeted by Pakistan during the night of May 9–10, following India’s launch of “Operation Sindoor.” Pakistan alleged that it had used hypersonic missiles launched from JF-17 fighter jets to destroy India’s S-400 air defence system stationed at Adampur. However, Indian officials firmly denied these claims, dismissing them as baseless.

Prime Minister Modi responded to Pakistan’s claims by posting a photograph of himself saluting in front of the S-400 missile system, clearly visible in the background.

This morning, I visited AFS Adampur and had the honour of meeting our courageous air warriors and dedicated soldiers. Spending time with these heroes—who embody bravery, discipline, and unwavering commitment—was truly inspiring. India salutes and deeply appreciates the sacrifices and service of our armed forces.

The Prime Minister visited the Air Force station just a day after lauding the country’s “formidable” armed forces for the success of “Operation Sindoor.” The operation, launched on May 7, was a direct response to the tragic terror attack that took place last month in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation, highlighting the remarkable bravery and determination of the Indian armed forces. He stated that the forces successfully carried out operations targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), eliminating over 100 terrorists. The Prime Minister praised the military’s “unwavering courage” in achieving the mission’s objectives.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that Operation Sindoor has now become a cornerstone of India’s national security doctrine, signifying a bold transformation in the country’s counter-terrorism strategy. He emphasized that the operation has redefined India’s response to terrorism, establishing a “new normal” in how such threats are confronted.

Operation Sindoor”, he highlighted that the global community once again saw Pakistan’s troubling role, pointing to the presence of senior Pakistani military officials at the funerals of slain terrorists. He described this as compelling proof of Islamabad’s continued involvement in state-sponsored terrorism.
