Mumbai: An 18-year-old pillion rider tragically lost her life after she was run over by a truck. The incident occurred when she reportedly fell off a two-wheeler and came under the wheels of the truck. The driver of the truck has been arrested on charges of causing death due to negligence.
who was riding pillion with her friend Dinika Bafna, tragically lost her life in an accident near CP Tank circle. As they approached the circle, Dinika lost control of the scooter, causing it to skid. Siya fell and came under the wheels of a truck, resulting in her death on the spot. She was initially taken to Saifee Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Her body was later shifted to J.J. Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Following the complaint, the police arrested the driver and booked him under Sections 106(1) (causing death by negligence), 281 (rash driving), and 125(1) (endangering human life) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3 and 134(a)(b) of the Motor Vehicles Act.
