While discussing haunted experiences, Soha said, “I don’t know about film sets, but there’s our house in Pataudi.” She went on to describe how her family once resided in Peeli Kothi, a palace adjacent to Pataudi Palace, before mysteriously relocating overnight.
The reason for this sudden move? A supernatural encounter.
Soha recalled a shocking tale involving her great-aunt, who allegedly had a terrifying brush with the paranormal. “Apparently, my great-aunt was slapped by a ghost, and the mark was visible on her face,” she revealed. Although Soha admitted she wasn’t around at the time, this story has been passed down through generations in the Khan family.
Following the incident, the entire household reportedly left Peeli Kothi and moved to the current Pataudi Palace, which remains one of the most talked-about royal residences in India.

Interestingly, the story behind the palace’s creation begins with a rejection. The Nawab of Bhopal turned down a marriage alliance proposed by the Pataudi family, claiming their then-residence was too small and unfit for his daughter. This slight sparked a transformation.
Determined to change perceptions, Nawab Iftikhar Ali Khan of Pataudi commissioned the building of a grand new palace. He enlisted the expertise of renowned British architect Robert Tor Russell, the visionary behind Delhi’s Connaught Place, with assistance from Austrian architect Karl Molt von Heinz.
What emerged was not just a residence, but a landmark — Pataudi Palace, an enduring legacy of pride, prestige, and purpose.
