Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai on Thursday, May 1, 2025.The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) described WAVES 2025 as a groundbreaking summit— the first of its kind in India. Held under the tagline “Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries,” the event is set to bring together participants from over 90 nations. It will host more than 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, over 300 companies, and upwards of 350 startups.
The summit will host a total of 42 plenary sessions, 39 breakout sessions, and 32 masterclasses, covering a wide range of sectors such as broadcasting, infotainment, AVGC-XR, film, and digital media.
On Friday, May 2, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Vizhinjam International Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport in Kerala. During his visit to Andhra Pradesh, he will also lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several development projects in the Amaravati district, with a total investment exceeding ₹58,000 crore.
Mukesh Ambani, CEO and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, shared his thoughts on the power of storytelling, saying, “Our stories offer hope for a brighter future. We possess a vast treasure trove of classical tales that resonate with people worldwide, as they speak to universal values.”
He further emphasized, Our ancient nation is undergoing a remarkable revitalization, and under the leadership of Modiji, this transformation is accelerating. Currently, India’s entertainment sector is valued at $28 million, and it is poised to reach $100 million in the coming years. Let the stories flow, and let the waves of creativity rise.
Mukesh Ambani, the CEO and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, expressed his immense joy and gratitude as he welcomed attendees to the grand celebration of creativity.

Celebrities grace the WAVES Summit as actors from various Indian film industries arrive to attend the event.
He continued, “We are truly honored by your presence, PM Modi.”
Referencing Rajnikanth’s words, Ambani acknowledged the Prime Minister’s strong resolve, especially after the horrific terror attack, emphasizing a message of unwavering determination. “We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. India’s victory is inevitable,” he affirmed.
“The entire nation stands united with you, Honourable PM. Our Prime Minister endorsed this summit just a few months ago, with a clear directive—WAVES must amplify India’s voice on the global stage.”
