Western Railway Introduces Summer Special Tejas Superfast Service Between Mumbai Central and Rajkot; Announces Night Block Impacting Mumbai Local Trains
In an effort to accommodate increased passenger demand during the holiday season, Western Railway has announced a Summer Special Tejas Superfast Express service between Mumbai Central and Rajkot, scheduled to operate from April 21 to May 29, 2025.
According to Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the train will make 34 trips in total. The service will operate as follows:
Tejas Superfast Express Schedule:
- Train No. 09005 (Mumbai Central to Rajkot)
Operates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Departure: 11:20 PM from Mumbai Central
Arrival: 11:45 AM next day at Rajkot
Service Dates: April 21 to May 28, 2025 - Train No. 09006 (Rajkot to Mumbai Central)
Operates every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
Departure: 6:30 PM from Rajkot
Arrival: 7:30 AM next day at Mumbai Central
Service Dates: April 22 to May 29, 2025
The train will halt at the following stations in both directions: Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, Viramgam, Surendranagar, and Wankaner.
The train will offer First AC, AC 2-Tier, and AC 3-Tier accommodations. Tickets will be priced on a special fare basis, and bookings open on April 19, 2025 at PRS counters and online platforms.
Mumbai Local Train Services Affected Due to Night Block on April 19–20
Western Railway has also announced a night block between Churchgate and Marine Lines stations for the launch of the main girders of the Wankhede South Foot Over Bridge. This block will be in place from 1:15 AM to 4:15 AM on the night of April 19–20, 2025, resulting in the cancellation or partial cancellation of certain suburban train services.

- Train No. 90019 Churchgate – Borivali local, April 20 (Departs 4:38 AM)
Partially Cancelled Services (Churchgate–Mumbai Central):
- Train No. 91014 Borivali – Churchgate local (Departs 12:10 AM)
- Train No. 91018 Virar – Churchgate local (Departs 11:49 PM, April 19)
- Train No. 91020 Borivali – Churchgate local (Departs 12:30 AM)
- Train No. 91024 Virar – Churchgate local (Departs 12:05 AM)
- Train No. 90011 Churchgate – Virar (Departs 4:15 AM, will start from Mumbai Central at 4:25 AM)
- Train No. 90015 Churchgate – Borivali (Departs 4:18 AM)
The last train operating from Virar to Churchgate on April 19 will be:
- Train No. 91012 (Departs Virar at 11:30 PM, Arrives Churchgate at 1:10 AM)
Western Railway has advised passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and take note of the service changes.
