According to officials, NHRC member Priyank Kanoongo confirmed that a special investigation team will be stationed in Damoh from April 7 to 9 to thoroughly probe the case.
The action was prompted by a complaint filed by a local resident, who alleged that an individual posing as ‘Dr. N John Camm’ had been treating patients at the hospital while falsely claiming to be a foreign-trained cardiologist. The complaint further stated that the accused’s real name is Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, and he had fraudulently used the identity of Professor John Camm, a renowned cardiologist from the United Kingdom.
It is alleged that patients were misled and given incorrect treatment, leading to the tragic loss of lives. The NHRC is now actively investigating the authenticity of the credentials and the role of hospital authorities in this grave incident.
Authorities at a missionary hospital in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, are under scrutiny following reports of the untimely death of seven individuals allegedly due to treatment by a fake doctor. In response to the serious allegations, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has stepped in and ordered a full-scale investigation. “The investigation team of the NHRC, constituted on my orders, will be stationed in Damoh from April 7 to April 9 to probe the matter,” Kanoongo shared in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.
He also urged victims and concerned citizens to come forward with any relevant information. “If any victim or any other person wants to provide information related to the case, they can meet the investigation team in Damoh,” he added.

Attempts to contact the hospital authorities for a statement have so far been unsuccessful.
