On this International Yoga Day, let us usher in Yoga for Humanity 2.0 — a movement where the quest for inner peace shapes our shared global vision and policy,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

To commemorate International Yoga Day 2025, observed annually on June 21, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the national celebration from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday. He participated in a large-scale Yoga session, emphasizing the importance of wellness and mindfulness.
The Prime Minister Modi arrived in Visakhapatnam on Friday evening, where he was warmly received by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
While speaking in Visakhapatnam on the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “This year’s International Day of Yoga carries the theme ‘Yoga For One Earth, For One Health.’ It conveys a profound message — that the well-being of every living being on our planet is closely linked and interdependent.
Yoga awakens our awareness of the deep interconnectedness of all life. It guides us on a path toward unity with the world around us and reminds us that we are not separate beings, but integral parts of nature itself.
The Prime Minister stated, “Let this Yoga Day be the dawn of Yoga for Humanity 2.0 — a movement where inner peace guides global action.”
He added, “Yoga is the pause button the world desperately needs — a moment to breathe, to find balance, and to restore wholeness.
He further emphasized that India is advancing the global growth of Yoga by integrating it with modern scientific research. “We are promoting evidence-based therapeutic practices in the field of Yoga. Institutions like AIIMS Delhi have made commendable contributions in this area,” said Prime Minister Modi.

He highlighted that research conducted at AIIMS has demonstrated Yoga’s significant benefits in treating cardiac and neurological conditions. Additionally, Yoga has shown to play a vital role in supporting women’s health and improving mental well-being.
The 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Saturday, June 21, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the national event from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” embodies India’s vision of global well-being.
It highlights an integrated approach to health, emphasizing the deep connection between human well-being and the health of our planet. Rooted in the Indian philosophy of “Sarve Santu Niramaya” (May all be free from disease), the theme reflects a holistic outlook that promotes harmony between humanity and nature.
