A 39-year-old scientist named Abhishek tragically lost his life after a violent fight over a car parking dispute in Mohali, Chandigarh. The incident happened late at night when a disagreement turned into a physical attack. The main suspect, Monty, is currently on the run, and police are searching for him in Mohali and nearby areas. CCTV footage captured the attack, which caused fatal injuries to Abhishek, who was already in poor health due to a kidney transplant and dialysis.

Scientist from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) has died after allegedly being attacked by his neighbor during a parking dispute in Sector 67, Mohali, Punjab. The scientist, Abhishek Swarnkar, originally from West Bengal, was on dialysis and had recently undergone a kidney transplant.

Abhishek Swarnkar lived with his elderly parents in a rented house. He is survived by them and his two married sisters, one of whom had donated a kidney to him.

His family has accused Monty, an IT professional, of attacking him despite knowing about his health issues. The incident happened on Tuesday night and was captured on CCTV. The family has filed a police complaint.

According to the police, the argument started around 8:30 PM and quickly turned violent. Witnesses say Monty first verbally abused Abhishek before pinning him to the ground and repeatedly hitting him. Abhishek lost consciousness, and Monty rushed him to a private hospital. On the way, he allegedly hit a car. Doctors declared Abhishek dead on arrival.

Abhishek had previously worked in the US but returned to India due to his health problems. His research paper was recently published in the prestigious Journal of Science.

IISER expressed deep sorrow over his death, calling him a “brilliant mind” and demanding strict action against the accused. The institute also noted that in 2017, Abhishek was selected by the Department of Science and Technology to meet Nobel Laureates.

Police have registered a case based on the family’s complaint, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine further action.
