Mumbai Traffic Police Issues Detailed Advisory on Elphinstone Bridge Closure and Diversions
The Mumbai Traffic Police has released a comprehensive traffic advisory ahead of the scheduled closure of the Elphinstone Bridge from April 10. The bridge will remain shut for the next two years due to infrastructural developments. In light of the prolonged closure, authorities have implemented extensive traffic diversions and designated no-parking zones across key areas to mitigate congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement.
West and East Bound Diversions
To manage traffic flow in both westbound and eastbound directions, multiple diversion routes have been outlined:
Westbound Traffic Diversions:
- For Dadar West-bound Traffic: Vehicles will take a right turn from Madkebuwa Chowk (Parel TT Junction), continue along Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, turn left from Khodadad Circle (Dadar TT Junction), and proceed via Tilak Bridge to the intended destination.
- For Prabhadevi and Worli-bound Traffic: Vehicles will proceed from Madkebuwa Chowk via Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road to Krishna Nagar Junction, Parel Workshop, Supari Bagh Junction, and Bharat Mata Junction. From there, vehicles will turn right and proceed via Mahadev Palav Road, cross the Currey Road Railway Bridge, turn right at Shingte Master Chowk, and continue via Lower Parel Bridge.
