As the Maha Kumbh 2025 reaches its peak, the Uttar Pradesh Police have ramped up security measures for the Magh Purnima ‘snan’ on Wednesday, February 12. With millions of devotees expected to take the sacred dip at the Triveni Sangam, authorities are taking steps to ensure the event proceeds smoothly and safely. Special provisions have been made for crowd management, and Kalpavasis’ vehicles will only be allowed entry after they complete their ritual bath.

Maghi Purnima holds special significance as it marks the conclusion of the month-long Kalpavas period, with devotees continuing the tradition of sacred bathing, charity, and worship. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the importance of this occasion, especially for the Kalpavasis who have been residing in the area to fulfill their vows.

To manage the massive crowd of devotees, the local administration has designated the area as a ‘No Vehicle’ zone. Both private and public vehicles will be directed to designated parking areas, and only emergency and essential services will be allowed in. A strict ban on the vehicles of Kalpavasis has been imposed to ensure smooth movement and safety. The administration has urged devotees to follow traffic rules and adhere to the set arrangements for the holy bath.

A special traffic plan will be enforced in the city starting at 5 p.m. on February 11, continuing until the completion of the ‘Snan’ on February 12. Only essential and emergency services will be allowed access during this period to prioritize the safety and ease of devotees. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has reviewed preparations at eight railway stations, ensuring that all necessary steps have been taken to facilitate the smooth arrival and departure of devotees traveling to and from the Kumbh site.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sent his greetings to the devotees, seers, and people participating in the Maha Kumbh on this sacred occasion. He shared that over 45 crore devotees have already taken the holy dip at Triveni Sangam since the Kumbh began on January 13 with Paush Purnima. In case of an emergency, the special traffic plan will remain in effect until the completion of the bathing ritual. Authorities have also emphasized that Kalpavasis must comply with parking regulations and use only designated parking lots.

To ease the flow of devotees and avoid any disruptions, all secondary schools in Prayagraj have switched to online classes from February 7 to February 12. This will help alleviate any congestion and ensure that students’ schedules are not affected during this busy period. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure that there are no disruptions for the devotees, Kalpavasis, or the general public during the Magh Purnima, the fourth bathing festival at the Triveni Sangam. He emphasized that the state will continue to ensure safety, proper arrangements, and effective crowd management.
