Since Thursday night, the Pakistan Army has been engaging in unprovoked firing on multiple Indian positions along the Line of Control (LoC). In response, Indian forces have delivered a strong and effective retaliation, maintaining control and vigilance across the affected sectors.

Pakistan Army once again resorted to unprovoked small arms firing across the Line of Control (LoC) during the night of April 28–29. The firing targeted forward areas in the Kupwara and Baramulla districts of Jammu and Kashmir, along with the Akhnoor sector. This marks the fifth consecutive day of cross-border aggression, raising tensions in the region.

Indian security forces responded appropriately to the provocation, maintaining vigilance along the border. No reports of casualties have been confirmed so far. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, while residents near the LoC have been urged to remain alert.

The Indian Army has stated that it responded to the provocation in a calm, measured, and effective manner, ensuring the situation was handled with professionalism and restraint.

Kupwara/Baramulla/Akhnoor | April 29 — Tensions flared once again along the Line of Control (LoC) as the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small arms fire during the night of April 28–29, targeting Indian positions in sectors opposite Kupwara and Baramulla districts, as well as the Akhnoor region in Jammu.

In an official statement, the Indian Army confirmed the incident, stating, “The Indian Army responded in a measured and effective manner to the provocation.”

This latest ceasefire violation comes amid heightened security activity in the Kashmir Valley, where Indian forces have intensified anti-terror operations following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 that claimed the lives of 26 individuals.

The recent firing marks a continuation of hostilities, as similar incidents were reported on the night of April 26–27, when Indian troops effectively retaliated to cross-border firing by the Pakistan Army in the Tutmari Gali and Rampur sectors.

New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Monday to discuss the prevailing security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. The high-level meeting came in the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and lasted approximately 40 minutes.

According to official sources, Singh briefed the Prime Minister on the Indian military’s readiness and the overall security strategy being implemented in the Union Territory. The developments along the Line of Control (LoC) were also part of the discussions, especially in light of recent incidents of cross-border firing by the Pakistan Army on multiple Indian posts earlier in the day.

India Responds Strongly to Pahalgam Terror Attack: Suspends Indus Waters Treaty and Shuts Attari Check Post

In a decisive response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the Government of India has announced a series of stringent measures, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 and the immediate closure of the Integrated Check Post at Attari.

The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, convened at his official residence last evening to assess the security situation. Following the high-level meeting, the government directed all security forces to remain on high alert and ensure maximum vigilance across the country.

These actions mark a significant shift in India’s strategic posture and signal a tough stance against cross-border terrorism. The developments are being closely monitored both domestically and internationally.

Governments across the globe have issued powerful messages of support and unity following the recent terror attack, unequivocally condemning the violence. World leaders have stood in solidarity with the victims and affected communities, reinforcing their commitment to fighting terrorism and promoting peace.
