JEE-Advanced 2025 results are out: Rajit Gupta from the Delhi zone secures All India Rank 1, while Devdutta Majhi emerges as the top female candidate in the prestigious IIT entrance exam.
The much-anticipated JEE-Advanced 2025 results were officially declared today by IIT Madras, the organizing institute for this year’s examination. As the results rolled in, one name stood out across the country — Rajit Gupta from the Delhi zone, who secured the coveted All India Rank 1, topping one of the most challenging entrance exams in the world.
Joining him in the spotlight is Devdutta Majhi, who has been declared the top female candidate in this year’s exam, marking a moment of pride for aspiring women engineers across the country

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Advanced is the final stage in India’s premier engineering entrance process, and it determines admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). This year, over 1.95 lakh students appeared for the exam after qualifying through JEE-Main, but only around 16,000 will earn seats in IITs. To emerge as the top performer in such a competitive field is a testament to Rajit Gupta’s hard work, consistency, and academic brilliance.
Rajit Gupta, a student of the Delhi zone, demonstrated extraordinary mastery over physics, chemistry, and mathematics — the three core subjects that form the basis of the examination.
His performance across both papers of JEE-Advanced has set a new benchmark, drawing praise from educators, coaching institutes, and IIT alumni alike. He is expected to opt for Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay, a traditional choice among top rankers.
Meanwhile, Devdutta Majhi, hailing from Odisha but appearing from the Bhubaneswar center, made headlines by becoming the highest-ranked female candidate in the country. She secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) in the top 100, showcasing the growing representation and academic excellence of girls in STEM fields. Devdutta has expressed a keen interest in pursuing Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, reflecting the future-oriented ambitions of India’s next-generation engineers.
IIT Madras, while announcing the results, also released the final answer keys and detailed statistics. According to the institute, this year’s exam maintained a high level of difficulty, with relatively lower average scores — emphasizing just how competitive the top ranks were.

The zone-wise performance once again reflected strong showings from the Delhi and Bombay zones, while southern zones like Madras and Hyderabad also produced several high-rankers. Coaching hubs in Kota, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru reported a strong batch of qualifiers, reaffirming their role in India’s hyper-competitive preparation ecosystem.
In his statement, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated all successful candidates and acknowledged the effort and commitment it takes to clear JEE-Advanced. “These young minds are not only academically brilliant but also mentally resilient. They are the future innovators and leaders of India,” he said.
As successful students begin the process of seat selection and counseling under the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), counseling officials have urged candidates to fill in their choices carefully, keeping long-term career goals in mind. The first round of seat allocation is expected to begin shortly, with academic sessions in IITs slated to commence by August.
For now, the spotlight firmly rests on Rajit Gupta and Devdutta Majhi, whose accomplishments will inspire a generation of aspirants. Their success is a celebration of grit, intellect, and the relentless pursuit of excellence in one of the most demanding academic competitions globally.
