PM Modi, speaking from Katra, condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and accused Pakistan of targeting ‘Insaniyat’ and ‘Kashmiriyat’. He reaffirmed that such attacks won’t stop development in Jammu & Kashmir. Here are 5 key takeaways.

In the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful address from Katra, vowing that India’s developmental journey in the region will not be derailed by acts of terrorism. The speech, delivered during a public event in the holy town near Vaishno Devi, was both a tribute to the victims and a strong message to those attempting to destabilize peace in the Union Territory.

Here are 5 key highlights from PM Modi’s address that underline his government’s resolve and vision for Jammu and Kashmir in the face of terror threats:

PM Modi didn’t mince words while pointing fingers at Pakistan, saying that the neighbouring country has once again tried to strike at the core of “Insaniyat” (humanity) and “Kashmiriyat” (the cultural ethos of Kashmir).

Referring to the cowardly in Pahalgam terror attack that claimed innocent lives, the Prime Minister said these acts are designed to provoke fear and chaos but will ultimately fail.

He stated, “Those who sponsor and support terrorism are trying to break the spirit of Kashmir. But we will not let them succeed.”

In a bold assertion, Modi assured the people of Jammu and Kashmir that development projects will continue with full force. He emphasized that India is committed to rebuilding the region’s economy, improving infrastructure, creating jobs, and restoring normalcy.

“Whether it’s roads, railways, education or healthcare, no act of terror will halt our mission for progress,” he said. The Prime Minister listed key initiatives, including new infrastructure projects, investments in tourism, and local entrepreneurship programs that are already underway across the UT.

PM Modi paid homage to the victims of the Pahalgam Terror Attack and praised the bravery of Indian security forces who responded swiftly to the crisis.

He noted that their sacrifices will not go in vain and that the government remains fully committed to strengthening national security and intelligence networks.

“The blood of our martyrs will inspire us to eliminate terrorism from its roots. Their courage will live on in our mission,” he said, drawing emotional responses from the crowd.

Addressing citizens across India, Modi appealed for unity and calm in the face of provocations. He called on all communities to stand together in support of Kashmir and its people.

“Kashmir belongs to every Indian, and together we must protect its dignity and future. Let no one divide us,” he said, reinforcing the theme of national solidarity.

In a strong diplomatic undertone, the Prime Minister called on the international community to hold nations that support terrorism accountable. Without naming Pakistan directly again, Modi emphasized that global peace requires global responsibility.

He urged world leaders to recognize the consistent patterns of cross-border terrorism and to isolate rogue states that threaten peace with proxy wars and extremist ideologies.

PM Modi’s speech in Katra was more than just a political statement—it was a powerful message of resilience, unity, and unwavering determination in the face of terror. By vowing that development will not stop and naming those responsible for orchestrating violence, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s hard stance on national security.

As Jammu and Kashmir mourns yet another tragedy, the people now look to New Delhi for not just words, but continued action, security, and progress. And by the tone of Modi’s speech, that resolve seems stronger than ever.
