Mumbai, March 13 — A shocking incident unfolded on a Titwala-bound local train on Wednesday night when an empty alcohol bottle was hurled into the ladies’ compartment, injuring an 18-year-old passenger. The distressing event occurred around 8:30 PM, shortly after the train departed Masjid station.

Eyewitnesses reported sudden chaos as the bottle shattered upon impact, causing panic among the women on board. The injured teenager sustained a minor head injury and was promptly helped by fellow passengers, who alerted railway authorities at the next station.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) have launched an investigation into the incident. CCTV footage from stations along the route is being examined to identify the perpetrator.

Commuters expressed their concerns over safety on local trains, demanding stricter surveillance and increased security measures, especially in ladies’ compartments. “This could have been far worse. We need more police presence on trains,” one passenger remarked.
