PM Modi Lauds Saudi Crown Prince for Strengthening Bilateral Ties, Invites Saudi Investment in India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as a “strong advocate” of the growing bilateral ties between India and Saudi Arabia. Modi emphasized that the Crown Prince is “deeply admired” by the Indian diaspora, highlighting the significant role he plays in strengthening relations between the two nations. This acknowledgment underscores the deepening collaboration and mutual respect between India and Saudi Arabia, further enhancing the partnership in various sectors, including trade, security, and cultural exchanges.

In a recent interview with Arab Times, the Prime Minister shared his admiration for His Royal Highness, stating, “Each time I have had the privilege to meet him, His Royal Highness has left a profound impact on me. His deep insights, visionary outlook, and unwavering dedication to fulfilling the aspirations of his people are truly exceptional.” The Prime Minister’s remarks highlight the deep respect and admiration he holds for the leadership and vision demonstrated by His Royal Highness.

Under his visionary leadership, Saudi Arabia has experienced remarkable social and economic transformation. The ambitious reforms he has implemented have not only inspired the region but also captured global attention. In just a short span of time, the country has made significant strides under the framework of Vision 2030. The personal warmth and trust shared between the leadership have played a crucial role in strengthening the partnership between both nations. This mutual rapport has naturally translated into a shared commitment to advancing bilateral ties. He has been a steadfast advocate for this relationship and a strong supporter of the Indian diaspora in Saudi Arabia, who hold him in high regard. The Indian community in Saudi Arabia continues to deeply admire his leadership.

Prime Minister Modi Congratulates Saudi Arabia for Winning Bids to Host World Expo 2030 and FIFA World Cup 2034

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt congratulations to Saudi Arabia for winning the prestigious bids to host two of the world’s biggest global events – the World Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup 2034. Expressing India’s joy, Modi said, “As a close friend, India rejoices in Saudi Arabia’s stellar achievements. I would like to congratulate the people of Saudi Arabia and its leadership for being chosen to host the World Expo in 2030 and the FIFA World Cup in 2034.”

He added, “It is a matter of immense pride for any country to host two marquee global events within a span of just four years. This remarkable achievement speaks volumes about the leadership of His Royal Highness and his visionary approach.”

Modi’s remarks underscore the significance of Saudi Arabia’s accomplishment and the international recognition of the country’s growing influence on the global stage.

The Prime Minister highlighted the significant impact that mega events will have on boosting the local economy, while also opening new opportunities for Indian companies. He emphasized that Indian businesses have earned a global reputation for their exceptional quality, competitiveness, and efficiency. Notably, Indian companies have already established a strong presence in Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure and technology sectors, contributing to various major projects. These contributions are aligned with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030, where Indian firms are playing a key role in the successful execution of giga and mega projects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended a warm invitation to Saudi companies to seize the remarkable opportunities available in India as the country progresses on its journey toward becoming a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). In his recent address, the Prime Minister emphasized the potential for collaboration between the two nations, particularly in sectors such as next-generation infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, healthcare, utilities, innovation, start-ups, and the “blue economy.”

The Prime Minister stated, “I also invite Saudi companies to take advantage of the remarkable opportunities in India. They can participate in the growth of India’s next-generation infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, healthcare, utilities, innovation, start-ups, and the blue economy sectors. Deeper engagements and two-way collaborations between companies of both countries will go a long way in strengthening the bilateral economic partnership.”

Highlighting the vital role Saudi Arabia plays in India’s energy sector, Modi acknowledged the kingdom’s position as one of India’s top suppliers of crude oil and petroleum products. He also stressed that the two countries are exploring joint projects in refineries and petrochemicals as part of their long-standing energy partnership.

“Energy has been an important pillar of our economic partnership. Saudi Arabia has been a strong and reliable energy partner for us. It is one of our top suppliers of crude and other petroleum products. As India seeks to become a developed country, our energy demands will continue to grow, and Saudi Arabia will remain a close partner in our energy security,” the Prime Minister said.

He also pointed out that the strategic partnership between India and Saudi Arabia goes beyond a traditional buyer-seller relationship, with both nations exploring opportunities for collaborative projects in the refining and petrochemical sectors.

This collaboration marks a significant step in strengthening the bilateral economic ties between India and Saudi Arabia, opening doors for further growth and development in both countries.

India is making significant strides toward a greener and more sustainable future, with an ambitious goal to achieve 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence in India’s ability to meet this target, emphasizing the importance of global collaboration in the journey toward clean energy. Highlighting the strong partnership with Saudi Arabia, he pointed out the potential for joint efforts in key areas such as supply chains, circular economy, energy efficiency, and green hydrogen. As partners in the International Solar Alliance, both countries are poised to explore innovative solutions to meet the future energy needs of the world.

India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor: A Transformational Initiative for Global Connectivity

In a significant development during the G20 Summit held in September 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC), an ambitious project that promises to revolutionize commerce and connectivity across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

PM Modi emphasized that the IMEEC would serve as a key catalyst for growth, defining the future of global connectivity for centuries to come. He stated, “This corridor will become the key driver of commerce, connectivity, and growth, enhancing the interconnectivity of the entire region.”

The corridor is designed to improve connectivity in all its forms—physical and digital. It will create resilient and dependable supply chains, enhance trade accessibility, and streamline trade facilitation. PM Modi highlighted that the initiative would not only drive economic integration but also significantly reduce costs, increase efficiencies, and promote economic unity.

In addition, the IMEEC is poised to generate employment opportunities, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and foster sustainable growth. The Prime Minister emphasized that the corridor could potentially become the new Silk Route of the 21st century, bringing long-term benefits for generations to come.

With its transformational potential, the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor stands to reshape the future of global trade, fostering stronger economic ties and sustainable development across continents.
