Prime Minister Narendra Modi begins his three-day visit in Bihar, addressing a public gathering in Siwan after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for various development projects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day visit to three Indian states on Friday, focusing on the launch of significant infrastructure and development initiatives. The tour includes the inauguration of new railway lines, electric bus services, and sewage treatment plants. Additionally, key housing and water supply projects will be unveiled. Modi is also set to lead International Day of Yoga celebrations from Visakhapatnam on Saturday.
The visit takes place during an intense phase of political activity ahead of the upcoming state elections, especially in Bihar, where the BJP-JD(U) alliance is gearing up to challenge the opposition’s INDIA bloc.
PM Modi Visits Bihar: Inaugurates Vande Bharat
During his visit to Siwan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Vaishali–Deoria railway line project, valued at over ₹400 crore, and flag off a new train service along this route at around 12 noon. He will also launch a new Vande Bharat Express, which will run between Patliputra and Gorakhpur, passing through Muzaffarpur and Bettiah—aimed at improving connectivity across north Bihar.
In a boost to the “Make in India, Make for the World” initiative, the Prime Minister will also oversee the dispatch of a state-of-the-art locomotive manufactured at the Marhowra plant. This marks the facility’s first export, with the engine being sent to the Republic of Guinea.
As part of his support for the Namami Gange programme, he will inaugurate six sewage treatment plants (STPs) with a total investment of over ₹1,800 crore.
In addition, several key projects will be launched in Bihar, including:
- New water supply and power infrastructure initiatives
- Distribution of the first instalment under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) to more than 53,600 beneficiaries
- A “Grih Pravesh” ceremony during which keys to over 6,600 newly completed homes will be handed over to selected recipients

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations on Saturday from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He will conduct a mass Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) session along the city’s scenic beachfront, with an estimated participation of around five lakh people.

This year’s nationwide celebrations will span over 3.5 lakh locations, emphasizing youth and family engagement through initiatives like “Yoga Unplugged” on the MyGov and MyBharat platforms.
The theme for this year’s International Day of Yoga, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” underscores the deep connection between human well-being and the health of our planet. It embodies the spirit of “Sarve Santu Niramaya” – a timeless Sanskrit mantra that wishes for the wellness of all.
Since the United Nations General Assembly adopted India’s proposal in 2015 to observe June 21 as the International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has led celebrations from various iconic locations, including New Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Mysuru, Srinagar, and even the UN Headquarters in New York.
