Amazon Prime Video has officially canceled Citadel: Honey Bunny, the Indian spin-off of its global spy franchise, after just one season. The series, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, premiered on November 6, 2024, and quickly became the platform’s most-watched show globally during its launch weekend .
Despite its initial success, the series will not continue beyond its six-episode run. According to reports, Amazon plans to integrate some of Honey Bunny‘s storylines into the upcoming second season of the original Citadel series, which stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden .

Citadel: Honey Bunny, directed by Raj & DK, served as a prequel to the original series, exploring the origins of characters Honey and Bunny, who are the parents of Nadia Sinh (played by Priyanka Chopra in the original Citadel). The show was set in the 1990s and combined elements of action, drama, and espionage
Meanwhile, production for Citadel Season 2 is underway, with Joe Russo set to direct all episodes. The new season is expected to delve deeper into the global spy network’s complexities and is slated for release in 2025 .
