January 1 and April 9, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in India issued more than 85,000 visas to Indian citizens, a significant boost in travel opportunities to China.

This surge in visa approvals comes as part of China’s strategy to promote tourism and strengthen people-to-people exchanges with India, offering relaxed visa rules and reduced processing fees.

The move is seen as a bid to enhance bilateral relations, especially in the backdrop of increasing geopolitical tensions between the United States and China. The simplified visa procedures make it easier for Indians to visit China for various purposes, including tourism, business, and cultural exchanges.

This initiative reflects China’s broader efforts to open its doors to international travelers and stimulate cross-border connections. With easier access, the number of Indian visitors to China is expected to rise, paving the way for enhanced cooperation and understanding between the two nations.

As the global political landscape evolves, these developments highlight China’s strategic shift in diplomacy, focusing on fostering stronger ties with India amidst ongoing international challenges.

The Chinese Embassy in India has issued over 85,000 visas to Indian citizens between January 1 and April 9, 2025. This significant move highlights the growing ties between the two nations and China’s commitment to fostering stronger people-to-people exchanges.

Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, shared the news on social media platform X, expressing his enthusiasm for even more Indian citizens to visit China. “As of April 9, 2025, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in India have issued more than 85,000 visas to Indian citizens traveling to China this year. We welcome more Indian friends to visit China and experience an open, safe, vibrant, sincere, and friendly China,” said Ambassador Xu.

This invitation emphasizes China’s readiness to share its rich culture, history, and technological advancements with the world, especially India. The move also underscores the importance of diplomatic and cultural exchanges in strengthening bilateral relations.

China’s Call for India to Stand Against the U.S. in Trade War

Amid escalating tensions between the United States and China over tariff disputes, China has made a significant move by urging India to align with it in opposing the “misuse of tariffs” by the U.S. The appeal comes after President Donald Trump announced a substantial hike in tariffs on Chinese goods, intensifying the trade war between the two global powers.

China believes that India’s support is vital in confronting what it sees as the unjust use of tariffs by the U.S. This call for solidarity highlights the growing divide in global trade dynamics and China’s attempt to rally its allies in the face of increasing economic pressure from the U.S.

As the conflict between China and the United States continues to evolve, this development marks a critical juncture for international relations and could reshape the economic landscape of Asia and beyond.
