Mumbai Police launched a special overnight ‘All Out Operation’ across the city, resulting in the arrest of 12 wanted and absconding individuals, officials confirmed on Saturday.
The large-scale operation was conducted between 11 PM on February 28 and 2:30 AM on March 1, under the leadership of Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar and Special Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, with Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Satyanarayan Chaudhary overseeing its execution.
Senior police officials, including Additional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Divisional Assistant Commissioners, and Senior Police Inspectors, participated in the operation. The initiative aimed to strengthen law and order in Mumbai through targeted raids, arrests, and surveillance activities.
During the operation, Mumbai Police conducted combing searches at 207 locations, leading to the capture of 12 individuals wanted in various criminal cases. Additionally, authorities confiscated illegal weapons from 16 suspects.
The operation extended to cracking down on unlawful activities, with 14 raids conducted at locations linked to gambling and other illegal enterprises. Non-bailable warrants were issued against 46 individuals, while 25 others were served standing warrants. Fifteen drug-related cases were registered against individuals found in possession of illegal substances. Fifty-six individuals were booked under Sections 120 and 122 of the Maharashtra Police Act for engaging in suspicious activities.
As part of the operation, the police set up 113 road checkpoints (naka bandis) across Mumbai. Officers inspected 6,901 vehicles, including two-wheelers and four-wheelers. A total of 1,891 motorists were penalized for traffic violations, and 70 drivers were booked under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Mumbai Police regularly conducts ‘All Out Operations’ to reinforce security, track down criminals, and prevent illegal activities in the city. Officials emphasized that such operations would continue to ensure the safety of Mumbai’s residents.
