Shamli, Uttar Pradesh – April 21, 2025 — In a shocking and appalling breach of ethics and human decency, a ward boy at the Shamli District Hospital was caught on CCTV stealing gold earrings from the body of a deceased woman. The incident, which occurred inside the hospital mortuary, has sparked outrage across the region.
According to hospital authorities, the theft came to light after the woman’s family raised concerns about missing jewelry during the preparation of the body for last rites. Upon reviewing security footage, staff discovered disturbing visuals of the ward boy removing the earrings from the corpse while alone in the room.
The man, whose identity has not yet been officially released, was immediately detained by hospital security and later handed over to local police. A formal FIR has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
“This is not only a crime but a complete violation of human dignity. We are taking this matter very seriously,” said a senior police officer involved in the case. “Strict legal action will be taken against the accused.”Shamli
