A tragic accident shook Jaipur’s Nahargarh area late Sunday night when a speeding luxury car recklessly plowed into a group of pedestrians, killing two people on the spot. The horrific incident was captured on nearby CCTV cameras, which are now being used as crucial evidence in the ongoing investigation.
According to police officials, the car was being driven by a man identified as Usman, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the vehicle moving at an extremely high speed before veering off the road and striking the victims.
“Two pedestrians died instantly from the impact. We have also received reports of at least one more person being injured and currently undergoing treatment,” a senior police officer said.

Emergency services arrived swiftly at the scene, but it was too late to save the two victims. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and the families have been informed.
Usman, the accused driver, attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended shortly after. He is now in police custody and facing charges including culpable homicide not amounting to murder, rash and negligent driving, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Local residents have expressed anger and grief over the incident, calling for stricter enforcement of drunk driving laws and better traffic monitoring in high-risk areas. “This could have been avoided if traffic rules were enforced more strictly. It’s heartbreaking,” said one resident.
Police officials confirmed that a detailed investigation is underway and that the CCTV footage will play a key role in the case.
