New India:
In a decisive move under Operation Sindoor yesterday, India targeted 24 terror bases located in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, ensuring that no military installations were harmed.
In contrast, Pakistan responded with an escalated approach, attempting to strike multiple military sites across northern and western India. India swiftly retaliated, targeting and disabling air defence radars at several Pakistani locations, including successfully neutralising one in Lahore.
The government’s official statement released late last night described the Operation Sindoor airstrikes against Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed terror infrastructure as “focused, measured, and non-escalatory.” It clarified that no Pakistani military establishments were targeted. The statement also reaffirmed that any attack on Indian military targets would be met with an appropriate response.
Late last night, Pakistan attempted to strike military installations using drones and missiles across multiple locations, including Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj.
The Integrated Counter-UAS Grid and Air Defence systems successfully neutralized the attacks. Debris is currently being recovered from multiple locations, providing clear evidence of the Pakistani aggression,” the government stated.
As previously cautioned, India carried out targeted strikes on air defence systems within Pakistan today.
“In the early hours of the morning, the Indian Armed Forces engaged multiple air defence radar installations and systems at various sites across Pakistan. The Indian response matched the scale and intensity of Pakistan’s earlier actions. Reliable intelligence indicates that an air defence installation in Lahore has been effectively neutralised,” the official statement noted.

The government of India has reported that Pakistan has intensified artillery firing along the Line of Control in various regions of Jammu and Kashmir, including Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri sectors. As a result, 16 innocent lives have been lost, including three women and five children, due to the Pakistani shelling. In response, India has been forced to take action to halt the mortar and artillery fire from Pakistan. The Indian Armed Forces have reaffirmed their commitment to de-escalation, provided the Pakistani military respects this stance.
In response to the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 25 tourists and a local Kashmiri man, India launched Operation Sindoor as an act of retaliation. The Resistance Front, a proxy group of Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack. Subsequent investigations have uncovered communication notes linking the perpetrators to individuals in Pakistan.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated during a briefing yesterday that the characteristics of the recent attack align with Pakistan’s long-established pattern of supporting cross-border terrorism in India, a fact that is well-documented and indisputable.
India emphasized the necessity of holding accountable those responsible for the April 22 attack. Despite two weeks having passed, Pakistan has yet to take visible action against the terrorist operations within its borders or areas under its control. Instead, Pakistan has resorted to denials and accusations. Intelligence gathered by India has indicated that Pakistan-based terrorist cells were preparing for further attacks, thus compelling India to take preventive action.
This morning, as you may know, India exercised its right to respond in a manner aimed at preempting and deterring further cross-border attacks. Mr. Misri emphasized that the actions taken were carefully calibrated, non-escalatory, proportionate, and responsible. The airstrikes were specifically targeted at dismantling terrorist infrastructure and neutralizing those likely to be sent across the border to India.
