In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police have apprehended a notorious figure known as ‘Lady Don’ Zikra in connection with a high-profile murder case in Seelampur. The arrest sheds light on a complex web of revenge and gang rivalry that has plagued the area.
The incident traces back to April 12, 2024, when Mohammad Shahnawaz, a 35-year-old operator of children’s rides during fairs, was shot dead in broad daylight in the E-block of Seelampur’s scrap market. The assailant, a minor boy, approached Shahnawaz and shot him point-blank in the head. Shahnawaz succumbed to his injuries after being transferred to Lok Nayak Hospital .

The police identified and apprehended the minor shooter, along with two adult accomplices, Salman Faizan and Shoaib Mastan, both 20 years old. The trio had been extorting protection money from local businesses, and Shahnawaz’s refusal to comply led to his assassination
While the initial arrests brought some respite, the alleged mastermind, ‘Lady Don’ Zikra, remained at large. Known for her influence in the local criminal underworld, Zikra had been evading capture, with reports suggesting she fled towards the Indo-Nepal border. Her arrest marks a pivotal moment in the crackdown against organized crime in Seelampur.
Authorities believe that the murder was not just about extortion but also a calculated move to avenge a previous altercation in 2024, highlighting the deep-seated rivalries among local gangs. The arrest of Zikra is expected to unravel more details about the gang’s operations and other crimes linked to her network.
Delhi Police continue their efforts to dismantle such criminal syndicates, aiming to restore peace and safety in the region.
