Operation Sindoor, the Ministry of Defence has officially confirmed that targeted strikes were carried out on terrorist infrastructure located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). According to the statement, these facilities were being used to plan and direct terrorist attacks against India.
Operation Sindoor: Indian Armed Forces Launch 24 Precision Missile Strikes on Terror Targets in Pakistan and POK
In a major counter-terror operation, the Indian Armed Forces launched 24 precision missile strikes early Wednesday targeting nine key terror sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK). The targeted areas included Muridke and Bahawalpur, known as the strongholds of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror groups respectively.
According to top sources, the strikes resulted in the death of over 70 terrorists, with more than 60 others wounded, marking a significant blow to the operational networks of these terror outfits.
Notably, JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar has confirmed that 10 members of his family and four of his close aides were killed in the missile strikes. The high-impact precision strikes are being seen as a strategic move to dismantle terror infrastructure across the region.
India’s military launched strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) at around 1 am, in retaliation for the deadly terror attack in Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir. The attack, which occurred on April 22, claimed the lives of 26 people—25 Indians and one Nepali citizen. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the strikes targeted terrorist hubs from where attacks on Indian soil were planned and directed.

The airstrikes occurred just hours before a major nationwide security drill, aimed at strengthening civil defence in the event of hostile attacks. The exercise was set to take place across 244 districts, with a focus on preparing the nation for possible emergencies.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously pledged that India would not rest until the perpetrators of the Anantnag attack, along with all those involved in the conspiracy, were brought to justice. He vowed to pursue the culprits “to the ends of the earth” and ensure that the punishment they would face would be beyond their imagination.

Shashi Tharoor On Why Op Sindoor Briefing Was A Reply To Pak Army Chief
India’s signalling to Pakistan and the international community during the government briefing to share details about Operation Sindoor was very well done, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has said. Mr Tharoor, a four-time MP from Kerala’s Thiruvanathapuram, told NDTV that the decision to field Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and two women officers sent a strong message to the world.
“I must say that our signalling today to Pakistan and the international community was very well done. The briefing this morning, for example, was conducted by the Foreign Secretary (Vikram Misri), a Kashmiri Pandit. He was flanked by two women officers — which was a wonderful gesture — one of whom was a Muslim, to demonstrate this is not a Hindu-Muslim issue, as some Pakistanis are trying to portray,” he said.
Watch: Pak’s Khawaja Asif Fact-Checked On Live TV Over Claims On Op Sindoor
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif once again embarrassed himself and his nation on live television after he was caught spreading misinformation regarding India following successful strikes on nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) under ‘Operation Sindoor’.
During an interview with CNN after the strike, Asif tried to spread fake news about Pakistan shooting down Indian fighter jets during the strike. When asked for proof, he fumbled.
“It’s all over social media, on Indian social media, not just our social media. The debris of these jets fell into Kashmir,” he claimed.
The CNN anchor Becky Anderson quickly interjected, saying, “I’m sorry, we didn’t ask you here to talk about social media content. I’m asking specifically for the evidence, details. For example, was any Chinese equipment used to down these Rafale jets, as I understand you are alleging to be?”
